300tdi transfer box output bearing

I was changing the front bearing on the transfer box as it was completely shot. Once the shaft came out and I got the bearing off the shaft the spacer behind it fell off. Looking at it, it is flat on one side and bevelled on the other. Can anyone tell me which way round it goes or is it not important

That’s great thank you. I’ll put it back together now. Hopefully it will be a bit quieter as the ball bearings had started to fall out
