So my 110 has only done 10k since it's timing belt was swapped but it's been 7 years.

Is it worth getting it done.

It needs new Water pump, and while that's being done I'll get the P gasket done, so go the whole hog and timing belt also?

Do you want bent push rods? If as I suspect the answer is no-get it done

i've noticed that the service intivals for the timing belt are 72,000 miles or 6 years. Now given i've come from vauxhall (3 years or 40k) is the 6 years inteval still current or was it altered like vaux as in the beginning they had 80k on their belts.

the car is overhead cam so quite destructive when belt fails 300 tdi is push rod so usually not so serious ,belts seldom fail if done at 70 on 300s but after 7 years id change it

right, of course. I've not ventured into the engine much although i have the kit for the belt. Just finding someone daft enough to give me a hand lol.
It'll be done before the month is out, once the welding is done and the MOT is passed.

I guess I was lucky, I waited until 275,000 km until I changed my origional timing belt. The pully was worn out as the side was as thin as paper but the belt was still fine. I replaced the pulleys with the heavy duty machined ones instead of the fabricated ones.
