300tdi starter motor ?????????

cant get my off road disco to start?? sounds the starter motor. any1 tell me where they are, and if it was the starter what sort of sound would i get when trying to turn her over????? cheers!!:blabla:

What noise is yours making?

If the solenoid is u/s it won't make any noise. If the pin drops but the motor doesn't turn it'll go clunk. If the battery is flat it'll go click.click.click.click. or again no noise. If it's not engaging it'll make a strange graunch followed by a motor spinning down noise.
