300tdi retro fit in 200tdi location airfilter...

I am looking for images of people who have a 300tdi in the 2.5NA TD or 200tdi position and how they went about the air filter.

I have been meaning to get a proper solution to this since the engine went in 3 years ago, and never got round to it. It's got a stupid K&N thing on it.

Not having the extra room round the back the way it would be if it was stock, I am thinking round the front then making a bracket that holds a round filter box (as would be fitted) to the aircon mounts.

Just need to extend the pipe round the front, but I feel it would get in the way a bit.

So ideas and photos please.

This is something I also want to do over the next month. Do you have a viscous or an electric fan fitted?

You can use a purpose built 300tdi filter box like this (wolf type & very cheap):

And an ideal clamp to suit which would bolt to the zircon mount with a little fettling (listing ended, but just for info):

I like that air filter assy, I have a round one in the garage from a Range Rover I was going to use but that looks better.

Mine would need to be slightly different as the 300tdi pipework sits higher, but I think I will need to do something like that soon.

Order fast, I've just bought one and there are only a few left. I was looking at them a few weeks back on a parts website and they can be as much as £75

Just the housing, it comes with the two filter elements but no form of strap / bracket. The larger element being similar (perhaps identical) to the filter element in the standard 300tdi filter box and the smaller being necessary only for desert conditions to ensure no sand makes it through. it's a fantastic price. I can't find the straps (the link I posted to the strap expired a while back). You could always just buy a large steel band of some sort and adapt it to fit.
