hi all i have just bought a 300tdi auto it has had an after market cd player fitted but the rear door speaker is not working you get a thump when you turn the ignition on but then no sound ???? any ideas please cheers jono :D:D

I had same problem when i put aftermarket cd player in. I spliced the rear door speaker wires into the rear speaker input to the cd player. The speaker works now but probably not as it should be.

I think the only way around this is to buy a cd player that has 5 input channels but I could be wrong. I did get a harness adaptor from Autoleads but it did not fit!

there is a lead you can buy to make it work BUT it's on the other channel if i can copy an paste it i will!

I have made mine work will take photo's at weekend to show what i have done, as long that your new head unit has sub outs on the back theres a 95% chance that your will work the same as mine, especially how you mention the thud

i took an old aux lead and cut it to 10cm
take the old connectors (to the sub) off and strip wire back, you should have 2 outer wires and 2 inner
strip to 10cm aux lead so that there is 2cm of wire exposed ( again 2 outer 2 inner)
now i this sounds daft but bare with me as you only need to connect one of the 4 wires from the sub to the stripped aux lead to work,
if you connect 2 it cancels it for some unknown reason
i cant remember off top of my head which is the best one to connect from the sub ( and there is a difference) but i will get back with a photo, but in the mean time have a play wi it and you could get working.

cheers for that i found the lead and made up a rca plug and it works a treat i have also added a clarion bass unit under the drivers seat it has made it loads better im thinking of getting some better front seats mine are grey leather with the grab handels on the side im going to try and get the ones with a seperate heads rest as they look more comfy ?????:blabla::blabla::blabla:
