hi i am currently refurbing a defender 90 300tdi (you name it its needed it it). stupidly not reading the horror stories about the britpart rear crank oil seal i have recently fitted one:mad:. my question is has anybody fitted one of these seal and it has turned out a success. i have not yet finished the project and predict im around 2 weeks from when i will be firing the old girl back up and my biggest concern at the mo is this seal. many thanks in advance mark

If you are worried change it for an OEM part just add a g after the part number for a genuine part ;)

When i did my engine change i fitted an allmakes rear crankshaft oil seal and gasket - just make sure the one you use has a seal former ;)

look at turner engineering's web site as they have nearly all the componets for land rover engines up to the td5's plus an uprated crank seal for 300's which i have used on my 300 and they are easy to fit. job done:)

I had to do a clutch fork replacement on my Td1 300 diesel. As I also had a small oil leak from the rear crankshaft oil I just replaced it with a Britpart seal.

Took all the necessary precautions during fitting and unfortunately, I have a an oil leak much worse than before.

Any idea" as to what I should do? Is Birtpart for such oil seals not good quality?
