300tdi Pump?? Smoke!!!

I have got a 300tdi to replace my 200tdi which i am now going to break. I have just one remaining problem with the 300 which is the emission are to high to pass mot and shoots black sooty smoke out the back.
The bloke i bought it off said that the boost had been turned up, and it would also appear that the pump may have been messed with to.

Does anyone know what the settings should be for the pump ort any other advice on my situation?

sounds like the pump has been TUNED
