300tdi pump on a 200tdi

Hi all, my 200tdi injection pump is leaking diesel, so iv managed to buy a 2nd hand pump but its a 300tdi , they are both discovery pumps. Is it a straight swap, or are there any mods I will have to do. Thanks

Straight swap, although the traditional diesel knock seems to be a bit more pronounced now, even with the timing slightly retarded than I remember it with the original pump. Was told that's because the 300 pump runs at a slightly higher pressure than that of the 200.
You could also fix that leak at the back of the old pump if you want to and keep that as a spare.
You would have to slacken the 4 torx bolts that secure the pump head (cast iron bit at the rear of the pump) and replace the O-ring.
Just take it slow and take care you don't spill the guts of the pump.
It helps if you run a bit of teflon tread tape through the groove that seats the O-ring prior to you fixing the new one.
