Im having trouble tightening down my pulley bolt, when I get it about half way in before the crank starts turning, is there a trick to stop it from turning?

As a last resort you could remove the starter and wedge a pry bar in the flywheel teeth:)

the only way I found to do it with the auto is to remove the blanking plate on the back of the drive plate and put a locking pin in,I believe a drill bit of the correct size will do the trick too, just can't remember what size,I torqued mine up to 300nm as thats as far as the wrench would go. If you get stuck give me a shout and I'll try and explain better.

whip out the starter motor. wedge a large screwdriver or crowbar in the flywheel. but do make sure it's wedged in tight, because if it slips it could damage the ring gear,
