Afternoon .

am in the middle of upgrading my wiring on 300tdi engine and am replacing all grounds and positive cables with new .

looking at the feed from battery positive it runs round the back of the engine to the starter then on to the alternator . Does this have to run this way ?
could I wire in a single feel to the ault on it’s own and a single feed to starter Or do they have to be linked . Just trying to minimise lengths/ joints

You would have to go back to the battery from the alternator.
Alternator to starter is convenient, less cable, no more joins than what you propose I shouldn't think?

Ok was just thinking 1nice clean single feed to each, the one on mine has a like T joint crimped into one continuous cable looks rough al just put new to each . Was thinking going direct to ault to battery for less voltage drop and the starter on the longer cable round the back of engine
