Can this be done at home or is there any special tools needed to replace all the seals ect
I have a bosch pump that I would like to refurb myself if its possible without buying any
expensive kit.

Secondly who sells a refurb kit.

Ta Kev ;)

There is a lot of small parts and fine tolerances with the VE's, but they can be done in a clean environment with good knowledge + a solid guide

You can buy complete seal kits from stardiesel.com in Italy, not that cheap but a comprehensive source of non chinesy stuff direct from the net - or a safe bet is to order a kit direct from your nearest bosch service center (one near me in eastleigh), some will even post stuff out.

Usually you buy the seal kits for the VE's depending on service port size (I think), so M8 kit, M10 kit, etc.

Just doing a couple of spare pumps at the moment, me and two mates have all got D1 300tdi's, we keep two spare pumps between us and have just changed a pump on one that was overfuelling because a previous owner had played with the "smoke screw" and other bits, so I did a pump for him, very sucessful, good result, also the other guy's Disco has a distribution/pressure head 'o' ring and throttle shaft seal leak so I'm getting another ready to go. Lots of info on the net with good strip down and reassembly vids. I get genuine Bosch seal kits from our local diesel service for $20.00 Au each kit.
