Hi All,

I've just bought a mount for my TomTom GPS Reciever, that allows for a direct connection to the vehicle electrics (i.e. not through the Cigarette Lighter/Accessory socket).

It has it's own fuse, and what I am really after is anyone who can suggest the best place I can tap into a live feed that works when the ignition is on, to wire it all up? It's a 1996 300tdi S, and I've got as far as the existing fuse panel, but have now stalled.

I was going to go with the existing cigarette lighter feed, but I can't actually find that on my fuse panel (Some of the fuses have a little pic of a manual, so I'm assuming it's one of those, and if I had a manual, I'd consult it and find out!), and I am not sure how to get the existing cigarette lighter out without damaging it.

Any advice greatfully recieved!

Pretty please? Surely someone here must have experience of tapping into a feed that's only live when the ignition is on!

Failing that - does anyone know the best way I can piggy back this circuit directly off the cigarette lighter wiring?

Try the feed to the radio or if the fag lighter is only on when the ignition is on then remove the lighter and join your tomtom wire to that. Halfrauds do piggy back spade connectors so you can have two spade connectors going to one appliance.
