300TDI for spares/repair/salvage

1996 P reg 300TDI XS in black. Manual. 145000 miles. AirCon. 7 seater. MASSES of service history and receipts.

This has just been written off after receiving a whack in the O/S rear corner.

The damage is: Damaged rear corner panel (needs replacing), damaged rear quarter panel (could possibly be starightened), damaged rear bumper, broken light cluster. There is no structural damage. Glass is ok. Tailgate looks and opens/closes ok.

The insurance has written it off, and will pay me out. I have the option of retaining it for a fee, but I am not buying another Disco, nor want to repair this one, but could be ideal for someone else, rather than let them snatch it back.

• I have spent a small fortune on it this year. It had a full engine rebuild 2500 miles ago, which included new rings, new timing belt and tensioner, ALL new gaskets, overhauled head, new waterpump, new lift pump, new crankseals, etc etc. New clutch. Has EGR removed and has a tweaked fuel pump. Aircon just recharged.

• The engine has one slight fault, which is it does not like hot starting, in as much it turns over slowly (like a low battery)..........battery is fine, alternator is fine...........this would be for someone to sort out. Apart from that, the engine pulls like a train, does not smoke, and all the oil leaks have been sorted.

• The chassis is SOLID. I spents hours under it this summer, firstly cutting out the entire sills, and welding in heavy duty rockslider sills, which have been done to a high standard and treated. Welded up the body where needed, and a couple of chassis patches (which were isolated, not part of a corroding chassis). The only corrosion left is the front inner wing under the ABS pump, which I didn't need to do for MOT. Everything was painted and undersealed. New copper brakelines run to rear

• It has a 2" lift kit (Bearmach HD springs and Pro-comp shocks) with dislocation cones. All the off-road goodies have been removed, so wheels are standard, and there is a hole in the wing from a snorkel, and the grille was trimmed for a winch, as were the headlight surrounds.

• Panels are straight, and paintwork is good, apart from some light laning marks which can polish out. Glass is all good (3 small windscreen chips)

• Interior is good. Half-leather trim is in excellent condition, no rips/tears/burns. Everything works except the rear electric windows. Sunroofs are watertight. MP3/CD unit. Heater and aircon fully working.

MOT is Aug 2013. Tax is april 2013. It can be driven away. Because of the fee payable to the insurance, I cannot just give this away, and need to cover my costs, or its a waste of time. I wish I had the time to break it, but I don't. Any less, and I may as well let the insurance take it away.

I am asking £650 with the tax, and it can be driven away. This covers all the costs...........any less, and I may as well let the insurance take it away. This may make someone a good donor or a nice repaired Disco.
I will also chuck in a load of spares.........mainly engine parts, starter motor, ancilliaries etc.
