Scotchlocks:violent:

you need to work out which wires it goes to?

Not got my book to hand but follow the wires back and find out where they go, or post up wire colours and we can tell you;)

The truck is full of choc-blocks and scotch locks. Im usually a crimp and/or solder man.

Ill strip the panel out and get some proper pictures of what wires go through the box, which I'm assuming it a relay.

Right! Bleedin' thing!

So regarding the relay near the rear light. I stripped the panel back and realised this is for the tow bar. Which is fine, except that the signal wire is switched by this:

After a bit of messing around with fuses and relays. When i pressed unlock on the fob, i could hear hssing and see a tiny bit of smoke in the bay. So i pulled everything out and stripped the loom wrap off and found these! (there were more but i seperated a few of them).

I chopped them all and soldered up new sections of cables ... and what do you know! I have indicators!!

Thanks for all your help guys!

What a find a domestic light switch use with auto wiring, that's a first. Put that pic in the gallery of cowboy auto electricians. :D

I've been looking for that wire behind my o/s rear lamp, I believe its green but as yet I haven't found it I just want to use it for a power socket for an electric cool box, maybe its tucked up with the tow bar socket connections for trailer lighting, but maybe also behind the boot panel, but I won't be going there I'll install a new feed.
I don't know how they got to plug in the tow socket loom when it was fitted as the seat fixings are untouched.

Anyway, just in time by the look of it with the engine bay wiring only minutes away from a fire :(

Indeed! I've found some odd things in cars I've bought, but this is just down right odd. Although I almost sympathize as there arent many places to solidly mount a switch. I think im gonna take that out and fit a big 'jet fighter missile launcher' sytle switch. Just because!

I think that whole lot actually comes down from the speaker panel somewhere, I cant quite remember.

I was very lucky to find that when i did!

Blimey, I'll say uou were lucky!

Having done a spot of wiring on my own Disco after the previous owners incompetent welder set it ablaze, I know just how tiring it is to find all the correct parts or even something remotely close to what you need to keep it looking professional.

Good save :)
