Hi,

Just picked up my defender today after its timing belt change, now although the engine seems quieter I feel I have less power , seems to be running much tighter if you know what I mean ??

Any ideas ??

Thanks

Ill check mine as mine feels down on power after I did mine, o advance I it a smaller pin in the hole so to speak?

yes check to begin with 9.5mm drilll bit then advance by using smaller bits, till knock appears then back till it just goes, by tightening the 3 bolts whilst holding pump nut clockwise against the bit

Rang the garage this morning, Im being told that its not just a case of making adjustments to the injector pump - he says he may have to strip it back down ??

But in all seriousness, as long as you are not paying for their work to fix the timing then just let them get on with it. If they are going to charge you then I would try to explain that you can adjust the pump without taking it all apart.
