I just put a 300tdi together after buying it with a blown head the car warms up ok with temp dial reading half way and not fluctuating, pipes warm up under the bonnet but the matrix will only blow cold its not lost any coolent with no aparent gas bubbles in it. I filled the water though the radiator and the Tstat houseing to aviod air blocks also topping up the expansion tank Iam not in contact with the guy who sold it me so not sure if it was a problem before I would be very gratefull for any ideas of a solution to get it warm many thanks Re Alistair

whats the best way to shift the airlock thanks

Undo heater flow connection, the one rising off the head near the back, hold rubber hose vertically and fill with coolant mix while somebody else holds their thumb over the metal pipe end. When full quickly refit hose to pipe.
Sometimes it takes a bit of time to get all the air out of a 300 if it has been dismantled.

Matrix could be effed as it may not have had water running through it if it was driven with a knackered head so may have clogged up and rusted.
I had to change mine when i had same head issues, bastard of a job but rewarding when you get warm air and water flow.
