Also what else to check (idiots guide please) Im loosing the will with this thing:mad::(

Issues below with EDC now resolved :)

Firstly I bought this as an unfinished project & I know nowt about the EDC system

Engine starts eventually from cold & runs smoky (blue) the last owner was messing about with the immobiliser & god knows what else its not been running for 5 years. They couldn't
get it to run at all. The engine has been rebuilt but its anyone's guess how well lol,but I
have all the receipts for the parts, once started it starts with no issues but still
smoky, egr has been blanked & have all the workings/on the nearside inner wing vacuum
pipes ect do these get blanked off??
Pump timing may be the cause of the smoke??

Parts or pipes may be missing question is what am I looking for am I better to bin the edc & fit a manual pump if so what parts do I need.

What is peoples opinions on the edc system.

Ta much Kev :)

Pump obviously, different injectors (I believe) and high pressure pipes and a cable controlled pedal. Is it manual or automatic ?

Tis an auto.... I recently bought a unfinished recon engine off here it came with new bosch injectors
& injector pipes + manual pump (pump condition unknown) or even if it has parts missing or been messed
about with, id rather just buy a reconditioned pump to be safe so ermm just a cable then ??

I haven't but then I've only ever ran a standard set up, are you thinking of winding the pump up or summat?

Prob best to leave it untouched & see if I can get it to run nice & see how it performs.
I take it Ashcroft will do the cable to suit the brackets;)

Thanks for the info matey ;)

Wee update as I decided to go & mess about with the pump timing removed the air con pully
undone the 3 bolts & gave the 22mm nut a slight turn & something clicked ah ha I thought !!
tightened the nuts & it fired up without even a turn & no blue smoke :D

Im off to put the new props on :)

Unless it's suddenly puked all the transmission fluid out then it sounds like you've moved the selector on the transfer box, are you moving it with the gearbox in park or neutral?

In neutral, the box was dry when I got this with no pipes connected so fitted new pipes cooler ect & filled it up as in ashcrofts instructions. But god only knows what has been done before I got this as its been an ongoing project
since 2012.

What do I do drop the box looks fkn heavy lol

if torque converter was fitted badly it would break pump drive, does box feel like its turning?
