I have been taking apart my Series 3 109 over the last year as a slow restoration. I always planned on getting a 200tdi or 300tdi engine for it but I have now got a Disco 300Tdi Auto complete vehicle that I can use as a Donor.

I would like to fit the 300Tdi complete with auto box to the Series, so please everybody give me all your knowledge as to how to do it.

Also what parts should I keep from the Disco for my Series.

The Series is a long term project (I play with it when I have nothing better to do) but I would like to remove all parts from the Disco and get it off the drive within a few months

Cheers

Look on "Glencoyne's web site for what you need to keep from the disco. As for the auto box I have heard of it being done but never seen one. No doubt someone will be along who has done the conversion. I guess the engine may have to be moved forward (you need to weld a new mount for the 300 anyway) and may be a Stage One or Boingy front end. Is the auto box worth going that far ?

I don't want to change series front end, are you saying it might have to go forward to fit the box in because I was hoping it would fit due to my series being a 109. I would like to fit the Auto if it's possible because I like auto's and it's probably going to last longer than the Series gearbox
