Good afternoon guys n gals.

I really would like to fit A/C to my 300tdi defender but the price of the kits is just stupid! so im going to make my own but i need your help!

My questions are

Do you have a 300tdi defender or disco with factory A/C fitted?

Have you fitted a kit yourself?

How the A/C system works and the parts used are simple. The complicated part is the heater and climate control but i don't want that all i want is a on/off fan with a variable speed fan witch i can sort out.

Cheers Landy-Lee

There’s no climate control with the 300tdi Defender of Discovery, the AC is manual on/off, air flow direction and temperatures. There’s a lot of kit in and behind the dash board with the other stuff under the bonnet, which is simples in comparison to the heater/AC unit in the dash.

I’ve seen in the LRO mag the retro fitting AC into a RR looked a mammoth task even in a fully equipped garage with the professionals called in to do the job. I was interested as my RR didn’t have AC.

You need to be atleast qualified, not the simplest or safest thing to screw around with..

I wouldn't want to fit it to a Tratter TBH,

A A/C system is no different to hydraulics it just pumps coolant around instead of oil.
The gas can be nasty if you suck on the pipe lol.
