Right.. Start again with this... both front sensors cleaned and swapped over, the n/s one showed no resistance so i guess its faulty, the o/s one read around 946 ohms.. fitted new pump relay.. Cleared faults, still no joy.. Today been on autologic machine, got the following:

Pump not working when switched on

Both front sensors open circuit

open circuit to ABS pump relay

What to do next is the question???

MOT due in 3 weeks..

how much work would be involved in doing that?

would it make much difference to the insurance? (although its for sale when the test is done anyway so i probably wont bother)

Pull the main abs fuse.
Remove modulator block and do a bit of plumbing to the brake pipes around the pressure reducing valve.
Remove the wheel sensors and as much wiring as possible.
Insurance for notification of modification, no idea if they will charge you.

Thats the job i'll be doing for mot time then... Just how much plumbing are we talking? right back to the calipers? or is it just a bit around the top? Will I require any replacement parts or just new brake pipe?

Regarding the sensors, could I leave them in to block the hole but just cut the wire on the top of sensor?

Thanks
Shaun

The brake pipe mods are just around the prv to reconnect the pipes you have removed from the modulator block.
No need to go further.
The front sensors I would leave in position and cut off the wires.
The rear sensors are just a push fit into a tube in the brake back plates and should just pull out.
Have a look at this for the layout of the brake pipes for abs and non abs.
It should give you an idea of what you need to do.
If you have a brake pipe flaring tool you should be able to reuse existing pipes.
Re use the nuts off the mod block connections.
Section on brakes.

Cheers for that.. I think I should be able to manage to do that myself.. Just to check, i notice on the abs model there is 2 pipes going to rear into a double elbow, on the non abs there is 1 pipe to rear into a T-connector, therefore I can re use 1 of the existing pipes, swap the elbow for a T and re-route the other end to the PRV...? also, can the pipes be joined if there not long enough or is it better to run new?

Nothing to stop you connecting the two rear pipes together in a tee next to the prv. It just means you will have two pipes to the back not one, same difference.
It really depends on the condition of your brake pipes , if you have any doubts replace them.
Don't cost a lot its just the work involved.

3/16 copper or steel brake pipe with M10 fittings.
