300 tdi windscreen identification

Just got an average condition 1997 300tdi at a fair price with a big crack in the front screen. Bloke gave me a replacement screen with it but I suspect its a 200 tdi one but not sure. I would like to be pleasantly surprised that it is a 300tdi one but not convinced. The one in is bonded and has black edging BUT its a Sekurit make so I suspect its a replacement rather than original. The spare I was given is a triplex sundym and does not have the black edging.

Anyone know the dimensions of 200tdi and 300tdi screens so I can work out what I have got.

If its a 200tdi screen, can it be bonded into a 300 tdi car?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I sold a 200 screen to a bloke who wanted it for a 300. The only difference we could see was the 200 screen was about 5mm wider. Identical in every other respect. I never heard from him again si I assume it fitted.

Thats more like the reply I was looking for hughsey. I will either get a local windscreen co to have a go at it or do it myself. 5 mil difference would suggest it will bond in whether its 200 or 300.

Anyone who says you cannot do it DIY needs some snickers man coaching, I do however have the scars from cutting used bonded screens out of other cars to use and knife slipping and it can be a proper pain but I will take a view in the next week or so whether I do it or not. When done if it fits I will post the screen details and if it can be identified as a 200 one, then at least it may help someone to know they can be used. op2:
