300 tdi window leccy regulator fix

Posting this in case it helps others-drivers side window packed up-could hear the motor running but the window was just dropping,particularly over bumps-nice in this cold weather.
Stripped the whole lot out-gear on the radius arm was good as was the gear on the motor-trouble was the motor was about 5mm too far away from the radius arm.The three spot welds on the radius arm had given way,and the arm had moved out.
Drilled out the original welds-aligned and re-welded,put it back together and good as gold.

A very common problem, I normally use solid rivets, dont have a welder and rivets free from work.

And you saved £75.20 for a replacement regulator which I paid at a LR dealer in December 2003 the days before forums it think.

So pehaps I should get the old one off the shelf and repair it.
