Hi chaps.

whilst going down the motorway today i got the dreaded power loss then engine stall associated with timing belt problems,my motor had a new belt about 6000 miles ago so im assuming its the tension er that's gone. where do i go next to find out the damage and is it going to be easier to just fit a new engine ?

cheets in advance.............

james does it make a difference if the tensioner has gone as to a broken belt or is the end result the same ?

lol enough to bring it ti a halt. so take the fan off and timing belt cover is the first port of call.

what he said, whip rocker cover off and check rockers and pushrods (bending one or more pushrods is common, as are broken rockers), retime and fit timing belt. turn over by hand a few times, and away you go.

ok taken rocker top off this morning only to find to find two push rod tops broken and two very slightly bend rods whats next chaps? if it make a slight bit of difference the 2nd and fifth from the back are the ones that are broke.
