Thanks all. Yeah turns out the lift pump is hooped so thats going to be changed. As for the head coming off, that still needs to be done due to snapped stud for the exaust manifold.

often is the fault and allways something to check first but is good news cheap fix

Yeah i'm picking one up this week not new but known to be leak free and in good working order. Give that a go, and a oil change as its due.
