my beloved (sort of) Disco has just threw another wedgey at me. I am running my car on 50/50 biodiesel and normal diesel and I went out this morning to start and it wouldnt even from a jump. I know its cold but i checked the other drums I have of biofuel and none of them have frozen. I tried another battery but no joy all I get is a click then nowt. my car normal behaves very well in winter. doesnt seem to be any problem with glow plugs or anything.New fuel lift pump to boot.
any ideas?

Had to give in and get someone to it. Starter motor has seized and I am sure the garage I bought it from told me they had replaced it but no its the original.
Can get a recon for 65 which is okay for the short term just need to get it to my friendly neighbourhood landy mechanic.

Starter motor seized ?? :scratching_chin:Really??

Not unheard of but I'm a suspicious bugger ;)

How sure are you that the contacts aint just worn ? :(

dunno but its definately donald ducked... if its a simple job the place i bought the new one from are taking this un in part ex so they are laffin. put the new one in deffo not the ten minute job the haynes said, one nut not only took twenty minutes but showed up my supposedly okay up to now tool set... was an extension short... still once i managed to get the one tricky nut out it the new starter flew in and out and after a jump was purring.

i cant complain too much its been bloody good to me up to now.
