Hi all.
Have any of you had problems with wiring looms on the Discos? I have a 96 TDI, when I first got it I noticed the o/s front speakers would not work. The guy that sold it said it would just be the audio plug needing to be pushed in. I pulled it out and all seemed fine. Checked the connections in the door and foot well, all ok but no continuity from stereo plug to foot well plug. However I noticed a **** load of insulation tape around a number of areas on the wiring loom. Have not removed it yet, not sure if I want to know what has been done there. Apart from the speaker all electrics work, so I have taken the attitude if it aint broke don’t mess. This being the case it still bugs missing the stereo effect when listening to G&R.
Has anyone had wiring problems that relate? Any fixes?

I'd be inclined to have a quick look at the wiring if just to make some sence of whats been messed about with. you can allways run your own wire's from the audio plug to the speaker (for now)

Thank's for that, do you know if the rear door on the 300 has any adjustment on the hinges? I have noticed that it leaks,(no surpries there)! The rear door does not seem to seal at the top on to the door rubber.

The only adjustment you can make is repositioning the hinge bolts, the door may have droped slightly. you can usually tell by eyeing up the door to the surrounding body panels. what sort of condition is the rubber seal in !!
