On it's own not much. Depending on the type of filter you would have more induction noise. As far a power only 2 or 3 bhp and thats on a petrol engine that has been tuned ie. full flow exhaust, head and camshaft. Does it justify the £35-40? although you would never have to purchase another air filter.

I thought about fitting a K&N, there was a thread on here not long ago about K&N filters. do a search in here on K&N filter. It put me off, someone said that it's the quickest way to stuff your engine up. He said that it gives more power by letting more air, but if it's letting more air in then think about the dust and small debris it will be letting through, quite logical, when you think about it.

I was going to fit a K&N but decided to wait and see what it would be like after removing the EGR and CAT. I dont think I'll bother now. Check out the threads on K&N, De catting, and removing the EGR valve and make your mind up.
