I've just got a M reg disco and want to mod it for off roading:). What would you recommend to use for lift kit, protection snorkel and breather pipes good set of tyres that will be good on road and off also anything else I haven't covered. I'm on a bit of a budget.:(

Cheers Tom

On road? Leave it the **** alone. Off road.............doing wot off road? Everything's a compromise between the two & I'd reckon you're just about to find out that everyone's got an opinion. ;)

Ello youngun - long time no see.
Fer yer lift kit, I can recommend TerraFirma springs and shocks - I've got em on me 90 and they're great.

As for a snorkle - make yer own! I reckon mine is better than shop-bought and cost me about 30 quid.

For yer breeva's - pop round and see me! (PM me fer addy). I bought a load of fittings and tubing to do mine with and have got almost enough left over to do another one - yer welcome to it.

I've got Amazon Mud tyres on mine (same as Insa Turbo Saharas) - they're good on and off road and were only about 30 quid each.

I'd recommend diff guards as your first investment though - the diff pans are pretty flimsy, very vulnerable and difficult / expensive to repair.

Im not 2 fussed about the on road as im working on a farm and have to use it in the fields and on the tracks which at this time of a year only the tractors can venture on to and the farm landy, when i do go off roading its bit of wading hill climes and general.

Cheers Tom

If your going in water deep enough to warrant a snorkel and breather kit, then you might want to make sure that your door seals are in good nick. if not, get them replaced, as it will help reduce the possability of serious water ingress.

Maybe stick your ECU in a Tupperware box and seal it with silicone sealant?

The Insa Saharas aren't 'that bad' on road, but just don't expect them to grip or brake like a normal road tyre because they wont.

IMHO, 50/50 tyres are a waste of time on anything except gravel.

Steering guard? Dan bars?

Trewy chap have you got a pic of those boots? Even my little 155/75/13s were 50 nicker a corner
this any good?
