Hi all,
Back again !!! I know all landys are supposed to leak a bit - apparently its part of their charm - however my diesel pump is leaking/weeping and with the price of fuel i'd rather it didn't leak at all.
From what i can see its leaking from the gasket under the govenor cover no. 6 on the attached exploded diagram.
Can i replace this gasket with the pump in situ and am i likely to loose any settings dismantling it to get to the gasket?

Cheers
Andy

i wouldnt attempt this with pump in situ, remove aux belts ,fan etc, remove timing case and cambelt, lock the pump pulley and strip it out and do it on the bench, as long as you everything goes back together correctly with no missing parts and the pulley hasnt moved, then all will be okay, hope this helps

Thanks for the reply Dollydisco - However i've had another look at it tonight - you can get to all four bolts that hold the cover down no problem (once i move the air con pump) - so as long as nothing is going to spring out once the cover is off it looks like it is possible to do insitu. Anyone know of anyone on here who has done anything similar to the pump or has anyone taken a pump off and removed the cover and could tell me what to expect?

Cheers
Andy
