300 tdi cam belt mod.

Hi chaps, I have a series which I have fitted a tdi300 to.
Before I build up the front of the vehicle I was contemplating replacing the cam belt, I'm aware that early 300's (this is a '93) had issues with cam belt failure due to pulley misalignment.
How can I tell if my engine has allready had the mod kit rover relased to sort out the misalignment issues, I dont wanna go buy one if the engine has allready been done, which is a possiblity as the previous owner of the disco it came from was fastidious.

As you don't have the VIN then a visual check is the best way.

Most obvious thing is that the crank pulley for the cam belt has a lip or shoulders on both sides. The idler pulley should be the reverse, ie plain and not lips/shoulders.

Thanks andy, and your right I dont have the vin, and dont want to drive 150 miles to get it.
So theres a flange on the crank pulley on the mod kit, thats easy enough to spot, the rad is not in yet so I'll pull the cover off for a look see before I go and order any bits.
