300 tdi 1996 (p reg).. injection pump i.d

hi all,
anyone tell me what injection pump etc i have in my 300tdi 1996 discovery... bosch i hope, or how to identify it without a manual. im new to land rovers but needed a 7 seater (dont like mpv's) as i've been a bit busy in recent years with the meat and 2 veg. talking of veg... would like to give s.v.o a go on a 50/50 mix, or higher. can i "cut it" to thin it down to a lower viscosity, if so with what, and what ratio ? do i need a twin tank kit... is it absolutly a must have bit of kit. if anyone else out there has a 300tdi... same year etc and can give me any advice as to how they do it... i'd be very grateful.

p.s im a mason not a machanic... can build houses in my sleep but not that hot under the bonnet or forums...lol. cant believe the tech knowledge some of you chaps got on this site i need a bit of help so i thought i would sign up and ask the chaps in the know... thanks

A 50/50 mix of veg oil and diesel will be fine, especially with Kernow's mild winters. Just pour it in the tank with an equal volume of diesel.
You only need a twin tank set-up if you're going to run a high proportion of veg (or 100% apart from starting).
Change your fuel filter after 500 miles and then every 3000 - veg oil is good at cleaning all the crud out of your tank.

still need to know if i got a bosch injection pump or one of the others that tend to fail when using veg oil. any ideas... as i dont even know what a bosch pump looks like let alone one of the other pumps.

All the tdi's are Bosch and are fine for running on vegoil

dunno bout yer pump, but I know 2 peeps wiv P reg Discos. One has been runnin 70% veg fer yonks with no problems. The other guy runs kero with a bit of injun oil added. He's done that since the motor was brand new and it's now done 120k - he's only replaced the lift pump.

thats good enough for me.... thanks guys. yeah the emmits dont swallow terds down this far west... all water is treated... but just to make their holidays authentic... the locals will go into water and snap one off just before the tide turns and its time to go home... save a fortune on bog roll. the emmit kids love it... the've never seen a cornish cigar before
