Has anyone tried and could recommend a rear parcel shelf type option for a 3 door ? preferably one with a lock for security.

I've seen the ones on Home anyone ever tried one ?
and know if it fits when you have the softtop fitted ?

also the website mentions it does not have a lock...but the image shown looks like there is one with a lock..anyone know anything about that ?

When i bought my TD4 there was a 'homemade' shelf fitted which works really well. but as it wedges between the rear seat and the roof locking handles, it isnt safe to use with the roof off or with the seats folded down.
mainly because it would probably fly off when any sort of speed develops a vacuum but also it wouldnt really secure the contents of the boot while parked as it can just be lifted.

but also with the roof removed and the softtop fitted the looking handles are replaced by the 'pods' for want of a better word which are a difference shape.

I could make a new home made shelf which fitsaround the 'pods' or even under them making it secure both for driving and whilst parked. (ok it could still be removed if some tea-leaf carries a red-key about)

unless anyone has any better ideas..?

thats the same as mine, and the thing that looks like a lock, is just a little flap that you can use to lift it! THERE IS NO LOCK FITTED! all there is to hold it down, are little bits of elastic at each corner!

I've made a parcel shelf for the rear of my 3 door which is covered with black needlecord carpet. This fits under the roof handles and against the seat back. I am going to attach something (maybe bungee cords or straps) to the underside and fasten them to the hooks in the side panels which will prevent it blowing off (hopefully) when the roof is off. I thought the factory shelf had a locking mechanism and that was why it was so expensive (£250).

Bought mine off ebay £90 i think no lock either just a lock cover good piece of kit ,would have preferred a fabric rollback luggage cover though
