hi, I have a '93 3.9 vogue se with a 5am air flow meter, at idle the revs will hunt between 2 hundred and one thousand revs sometimes, and then run at five hundred most of the time. Sometimes it will stall, especially when starting and then moving into reverse straight away or coming to rest at a junction or traffic lights. When accelerating, it will proceed to two thousand revs quite well and then it will seem to run out of power and doesn't seem to want to rev much further, even when using kick down to overtake. When reaching about 55 mph, there is a juddering hessertation for about five to ten miles an hour and then it will run fine.
someone has told me that it could be my air flow meter, but wasn't sure.
Anyone got any ideas for a new rangie owner?
suggestions would be most helpful and appreciated.
regards, Scott

Hi Scott,

i would have a check of the inlet mainifold gasket round by the bulk head, listen for hissing, try spraying some WD40 round it and see if the hunting goes untill the WD40 has evaporated.

Its not a major job if it has sucked it in.
