Now getting ****ed with the v8 not running. Would it be best to plant a 300tdi in my disco as its pretty clean no patches and no need for patches atm or sell it as standard then buy a 300tdi. Knowing 300tdis are more expensive than v8s.

chuck a 300tdi in it but you will either need to get a spigot bearing made or put the another gearbox out of a diesel in it coz the input shaft is smaller on the v8 box when i did mine i just put 300tdi and r380box init

Is just engine box and tank or at least pump in tank that I will need to change? Wouldn't it be more expensive to insure an engine swapped motor than a normal 300tdi.

The benefit of a engine swap is you can do all the jobs that take ages to do otherwise, Cam belt, clutch rear and front crank seals etc while the engine is out. Giving you a reliable motor for years :)

just gotta swap he sender in the tank really tbh i didnt have any problem with the insurance but compared to a standard 300tdi disco ive no idea then uve gotta get it wired up and also get the wiring for the heater plugs on the engine

What's wrong with the V8 I've not been keeping up

Just annoyed with it. Better mpg from a 300tdi, if this v8 keeps annoying me I'll rip it out and put a tdi in. But got me thinking full 12 month MoT. No patches very little rust might sell and get a 300tdi anyway.

True. Keep the v8 for a project build.

Better the devil you know ;) I've got 2 V8's waiting for projects :p comp safari one day :)

Yeah. Am I right tank pump line and engine box is all that needs swapping over?
Wouldn't ecu swap over if I had a 300tdi donor to get it all out.

That's all I can think of. Not sure about engine mounts they will most likely be different but apart from that should be a fairly simple swap,
Only the newest 300's had electronic fuel pumps the majority are mechanical so easy to set up :)
