Engine as above ,in RRC as below - any thoughts on the in-distributor electronic "points" conversions available as a retro fit ?
Also ,coilpack plugs....I know bugger all about them having been purely diesel for decades - are they suitable ,worth the money ,any point ?

Thoughts on performance and or economy versus cost and work involved ,anyone ?

thanks guys ,Shocks

To put 8 individual coil packs on you can forget the distributor and long ht leads. I'm embarking on just this project at the moment, you'll need a custom ECU to run the ignition, but never have points, rotor arm, dizzy cap or duff ht leads to ever worry about again.

Once my conversion system works I'll be posting full details on here.

Murtle ,thats just the kind of thing I was wondering about so please let us know how it goes for you

Q : custom ECU ? Where , what and how ? Dont want much do I ? Being a long time diesel (or any available heavy oil!) user Im at a loss when it comes to the finer points of petrol engines and more modern developments....my expertise ended with ford pinto engines
