Hi

Just aquired a mates series 1 v8 discovery.
Bit of history
My mate bought it a few months back and it was runnig fine till it started to have a fuel problem, it would run fine in town but once out on back roads it started to loose alot of power and eventually would'nt run at all. After that it has had new fuel pump, new ignition coil, new sparks and we swapped the Zenith carbs for a set of KIF SU's with KaN filters. After all that it still wouldnt start so it went to a garage, He managed to get it started but it was rough as hell. After some prodding it was fine but the other day it just stalled while idleing (i think it may have run out of fuel) and now its having the same problem as before.
When i try and start it i can see the carb barrels trying to lift but there is just no fuel coming through from the needles.
There is definately fuel in the carbs.

Has anyone got any tips with how to get it running?!?!

Cherrs guys
Ally

P.S anyone know a good landy garage near Forfar Scotland?

Right!!

It's working!!

Tip to anyone having the same problem i was having.

Get a bottle of bathroom cleaner (anything with a spray nozzle) fill it full of petrol.

Take the air filters off and spray a **** load of fuel straight into the block!!

START ENGINE AND FEEL THE V8 POWER!!!!!!!!

I'm assuming it just needed somthing to draw the fuel through the carbs but its running now and im totally chuffed at my own mechanical genious!!

No doubt ill be back here in a weeks time asking for tips but we'll sort that out when we get there!

Cheers anyway guys

Ally
