2nd hand chassis swap? (a bit o.t}

Hi all.
Anybody know the laws about 2nd hand chassis replacement, the chassis I have
seen has a v5 and achassis number would d.v.l.a swap numbers on my v5 to
tally chassis with reg or would it be a "q" plate job if so, should I say
nothing buy a set of letter/number stamps and replace the chassis number
with mine, send the replacement chassis v5 to d.v.l.a declaring it scrapped.

I seem to remember it gets the number plate belonging to the replacement
chassis, as will be stated on the V5 you have. I seem to remember this
was the case when I replaced my RD350LC frame years ago..
