Looking for information on hooking up the mechanical throttle (set up under dash) to the carb. My manual gives info on the throttle components, but nothing on the hook-up. Before I take a guess, thought I’d ask.

This is what I have on my series diesel, I didn’t know the hand throttle were fitted to petrol ,but as long as throttle comes off accellerator cross linkage should work the same ?

This is a pic from when I put my soundmatting in , you can see the large hole that takes the shaft and the 3 small nutserts that the handle backplate screws to , I think they are bsf quite small 3/16” ?

that’s a mean looking 109 in your avatar , any big pics

Mines just fitted with through bolts , bit harder to fit but not been taken off since.
How does that slip on the shaft when you press the accelerator?
I've got an S3 hand throttle which I'm going to fit on my S2A but it has to go in the footwell as the heater is on the bulkhead. The tricky parts are 577127, 569132, 592904, 532395

Hi Rob
It looks like if you fit yours on the side of footwell then all bits would be standard apart from a control rod that would need to be bent to suit, if placed correctly you might get away with twisting existing rod lower end 90 degrees from this pic

That's vwery helpful, I'm thinking it will just fit. Throttle is in post (off e-bay) and I need to make or buy the links. The only person who has the bent one is the guy in Cyprus at £26, but it may still be worth it as it could take hours to make one.

The rod diameter is just under 5mm so 3/16 , it’s not £26 worth , I would use a bit welding rod as a template , knock one up in half an hour
The little springy clips are the same on the other throttle linkage parts on the series engine but could not make them
Although you could use those star washers which grip shafts but make it harder to remove

Rob I have a 200di fitted so the accelerator is on the other side with cable going to throttle the cross shaft operates the throttle on offside will get a pic tommorrow only one I have is when I had 15J engine which was all rods. The parts I had where standard accelerator bits that I adapted.
My throttle was fitted for my capstan winch but I have found it not necesary as winch will pull anything at tickover.

Took some pics as I had forgotten what did what
My accelerator pedal still moves the cross shaft, the handthrottle link on crosshaft is free to rotate on shaft and pushes the fixed lever up when operated thus accelerating engine.
The earlier picture I posted of engine side of handthrottle was only operating cross shaft for the 15J
