With the ignition turned on - sometimes there is not enough power delivered to light up the ignition lamp. If I turn the main light switch on ther is a low 'fizzing' emitted fron the shunt box (behind the passenger seat). Then when you turn the light switch off, the ignition lamp lights properly the engine will start.
With the noise coming from the box, I was convinced that it was fried and fitted a new one - exactly the same thing happens!!!
The indicator flasher unit and the relays under the bonnet (on the bulkhead) have also been playing up but these seem to have stablised now.
Once you get the engine started the vehicle and all the bits (lights etc) run normally.
Both battries are showing 12.2 volts - a bit low but they are 2 - 3 years old
