Got the chance of a decent new door (old ones are falling apart in turn of course on the X plate 110 CSW).

Can't imagine the shape/spec has changed much - any reason why it wouldn't be a straight swap, and what about the door card/window/lock mechanism....?

Searched but no obvious answer - anyone tried/succeeded, or found the hiccups along the way? Thanks for any thoughts. Cheers, A

So.......no-one tried it, or it's too stupid a question to deserve any answer.....or......?

Really appreciate any insights - thanks, A

Is it leccy window and central locking on the door? Does your Defender have leccy windows/central locking?

It'll fit fine as long as you have the correct door striker and have a way of operating the lock/window. I'm guessing the door will still have a manual lock tab so you can unlock it by hand.

Surely the window motor will just need wiring upto an appropriate switch unless it does some new fangled ecu interaction?

Do you have the door already or are you checking before buying?

I haven't done it yet, but I will be buying 4 Puma spec galvanised doors for my 2005 Defender double cab, main differences seem to be rounded corners on the frame which suggests an easier job to adjust to fit properly.

Cant see any real issues, mine already has elec windows and central locking which I will swap the gubbins over, not sure about the door cards though, but the new doors look to have the same holes in the frame to fit the TD5 door card.

I couldn't afford complete doors for mine so I just fitted foreskins

:drum:

Cheers chaps.

Existing are manual winders so might just swap the cards and gubbins by the sound of it and get round to an electric upgrade eventually.

Door's there when I want it - just didn't want to find it was an impossible swap - will let you know if I find any nightmares when I set to in a few weeks. Cheers, A
