Hi Guys,

I'm considering purchasing a new Defender 110, just for general driving maybe some off road on farm land but mostly road driving.

Any advice to the vehicles reliability, a top price of aroun 25k

Thanks for any pointers.

Buy 30 Series Landys.......At least one with always be working...

Probably

lol

One bit of advice is not to get any accessories or bolt on options at all from the dealer. All of that stuff is A LOT cheaper aftermarket and the factory doesn't actually install anything, the dealer does after the car is delivered.

Like all vehicles if you look after them the Defender can be reliable. If anything does go wrong they are cheap to put right and are fun to drive.
You don't mention where you live and where you will be driving most of the time. I live in the French countryside where the Defender is ideal and I wouldn't want anything else. Before I used to live in a big town. (Portsmouth) If I was still living there then I wouldn't want a Defender. Hard work in traffic, slow, not very comfortable. If I was still in a big town I think I would be happier with something like a Disco or the new Freelander/ Toyota Rav type of vehicle. I find driving a Defender is more like driving a truck which I do enjoy in the right environment.

Unless you really do want a new one you would do better to spend your money on a mint condition older one. The engines are far better than these new fangled ones full of lectrics ;) that and its a doddle to fix yourself if something goes wrong.

Dont worry though, with new and old you still get the leaks and the draughts etc...
