Having bought a new freelander sport limited edition and covering just 400 miles. It has been to the dealers 5 times for a serious vibration problem. Now the car has been taken back by landrover and we are offered a new replacement. Will the next one be exactly the same ?
Having spoken to a master technician he thinks yes the same problem will occur.Any idvice on this is appreciated.
Apparently land rover know the problem but there is no fix.Ours had software upgrades and made it worse than before:mad:

my thoughts exactly ... Now have a courtesy car and not wanting the same thing to happen again. If land rover know the problem but have no fix why can a dealer still sell the product.

If your talking about what i think your talking about......

Land Rover havent admitted its a problem.

They have said its a 'characteristic of the automatic gearbox'.

Also, its not a vibration , its a resonation :) Not that it makes alot of difference to you.

The older gearbox software didnt have this issue, then there was a level of software, which made it really bad. Then there was a software level that made it better , but still noticable, mainly when driving up inclines.

From what ive heard, Land Rover are still looking at ways to reduce the resonation, some do it more than others. They dont know why some are worse than others, but they know what causes it and are unwilling/unable to rectify it due to regulations they have to meet.

Hope your new one is less prominent.
