Guys the passenger seat on my RR neither heats nor cools any more. The switch suggests it is doing, but nothing actually happens. My local garage is happy the power is getting to the seat, but have said its a LR dealer job beyond that as its likely to be the element

It struck me as both heating and cooling have gone it might be something else - anyone have any experience of this - thanks

There's probably an occupancy sensor switch and if that's not good it might be stopping it working.
I've no idea if that is the case, it's just a wild guess.

Its one of those "features" that might be nice for the first 5 minutes on a really frosty morning, but any point beyond that it feels like one has had a rather unfortunate and involuntary bowel-movement.
Once my seat-heating element stopped working I just left it.
Interestingly, the seat heaters on my 1989 Mercedes 500SEL were still working after 140,000 miles of driving and 16 years.of winter use.
Rangie seat-heater elements seem to have a lifespan far short of this.

The seatbelt light doesn't come on either, so I'm going wit the occupancy sensor for now. They don't seem that resilient do they . The ones on My audi's have never caused any problem, but each of my RRs have had problems. Thanks for your help

Mine on the merc failed which is why I suggested it. I don't know on the RR if it affects the seat heating/cooling but it did on the merc
