Funny you should say that. I’ve literally just bought a SuperTracker 4 wheel aligner with camber/castor gauge for £250 but I don’t take delivery of it until Wednesday. I need the car doing before then. The dealer I bought it from is paying for it though so no great issues.

If you have such a well equipped workshop, why not invest in laser alignment gear. Can be picked up second hand for not too much from time to time.

This is my philosophy - spend the money on the tools, rather than so called garages.... laser wheel alignment is on my shopping list too, having taken SWMBO's D1 in for alignment, only to have the monkey hold the key in the start position with the engine running  ... even worse was that I had to tell him it was actually running! - I mean it's a D1 - if you can't hear that, then

( apparently, I am not insured to drive it up onto their ramp o_O - no probs, won't be coming again anyway :p )

Plus 1 ref tools, best thing I bought was a bush extraction tool , saved a fortune by not having a garage do them plus seeing there’s 24 x bushings I know it will always come in handy

Along with the D3 a decent diagnostic , as local dealer charges £150 every time u need the codes read and that’s not including when u fit something and need it activating, plus of course a decent multimeter

Blimey was he deaf in not being able to hear the engine running

Nice way to kill the starter motor and flywheel gear. I had issues with Audi main dealership.

Overfilled the oil and topped the water up to full on a service, consequently blew a head gasket( I had already complained about the water when I picked it up). Never again would I go to the local Audi main dealer.

Genuinely thanks again.

It’s been a pleasure chatting to you all.

Is there a Range Rover owners club you recommend?

Hi

Yes right by the threaded part they are slightly bent both sides

When u have the 4 x wheel alignment done also ensure it’s in right tolerance mode and they also check and reset ur steering wheel angle sensor , other wise if it will light ur dash board up like a xmas tree and when turning corner the DSC system will kick in , they should do all of that for u

Also ensure ur steering wheel is straight after they’ve done the adjustments

Hunter alignment systems are the ones u need and will also give u a printout

Plus hopefully there be able to undo the rear upper and front lower wishbone bolts as they can seize solid inside the bushings

Hope that helps

Hiya

Cost me £90 because I had a lot done and they had terrible trouble adjusting some of the bolts , drove like a different vehicle

Assume the sport and D3 are different , checked with other owners and indeed on the D3 has the slight bend

Never mind , good that your getting it sorted

Like everything , a new set of tyres don’t come cheap , along with if there not lined up properly will light ur dashboard up like a xmas tree and of course drive correctly

Have u looked here
