The vacuum pump on my 200Tdi seems to have some sort of oil leak around it (see photo). Is it likely to just be the gasket where it meets the block or are they prone to leaking elsewhere? Also, the parts diagram seems to show two gaskets sandwiched between the pump and block, separated by an additional plate. Is this right?

Yes one gasket seals pump to skew drive plate, second gasket skew gear plate to block, self explanaotry when you pull it apart.
Do a search on here first as theres some o rings in the skew gear set up than can cause oil pressure problems as they get hard and dont seal properly, easy to do.

Tbh that is such a minor oil sweat, I would clean it off first and see how it goes.

Thanks, that's really helpful. I'll whip it off and replace the gaskets anyway as I'm tidying up the engine while it's accessible. I can't find a part number for the o-ring mentioned in the diagram so hopefully it's still OK. The engine hasn't been run for ten years so who knows though!

If you have a local bearings place, take the pump to them, explain what it is, and if they are decent they will measure it up and supply one that is suitable. I would guess it will be penny’s, but who knows.

Item 29, looks they will be pennies, but 29 is the main one to replace.
