200tdi to 200tdi!

OK, I am confused!
I have a Defender 110 H reg with 200 tdi in. If I wish to change to a Disco 200tdi do I have to do all the conversions etc in all these usefull threads, or are those more for changing from the older diesel engine??

Why would you want to fit a Disco engine if you already have a Defender tdi??


you can swap turbo over but it's a pain in the arse as there's loads of other bitsthat need swapping as well inc Alt PAS pump Timing cover IIRC!???

Probably need to swap because the original is on its way out

I've done this, the origional Manifold and turbo went on so the same downpipe could be used. Had a hell of job trying to sort out the belt situation because I didn't get the alternator and power steering pump mount, so my dad made one so now, after a bit of looking around for belts, the water pump is with the PAS pump and the alternator is on it's own The whole timing casing is different, completely senseless think by Land Rover, why not just have them the same There must have been some reason in the madness
