200tdi rocker clearance

right I have adjusted my 200tdi rocker clearance as per the haynes book of lies method rule of nine (1 down adjust 8 etc) and after finding nearly 2 mm of clearance on a couple they are now all adjusted to 0.2mm is there any need to recheck them after a few miles? and whats the best way of making sure that the valves are fully open before checking and setting the gap?

if after youve adjusted them thread above nut differs much on some look for why ,worn valve caps ,bent rods or worn followers , rocker stops moving when fully open ,if you go past that point go on to the next one

might have to re check them then as I went past slightly on a couple and rotated back past them being fully down then clockwise again to get them fully down then re checked them again and had to adjust a few a second time. may be a better idea to check them during my day off instead of in the evening as the dark sets in
