200tdi rangie into 90 def

Hi, I'm looking at a 200tdi range rover into a 90td, I would like to use the engine and gearbox/transfer box from the r/r and the axles. Reason I got the 90 for a song with a new galv chassis but engines had it and as I intend to use 90 as an every day car I thought this would be the best way to go. I have access to welder, engine hoist, very good selection of hand tools and both full cars, any thoughts ideas or has any one done this. many thanks.

use the original gearbox forget bodging the rangie gearbox its horrendus!!

Use the Engine and transfer box from the RRC and keep the ly77 (Same box) but with a longer front input shaft/housing. The Borg warner transfer box is god bit make sure its not seized nor has wear in the output flanges as thats common. Make sure you use the rangie front propshaft with the transfer box as the output shafts are slightly different place you would need to get the rear one made up because it will be different length all together and not an off the shelf item.
