200tdi over heating

I suggest that you have the wrong sender from Steve parker he may have sold you a standard Disco one. Mine runs just above the Quarter mark normal running around without any Fan. If I push the engine hard and I mean hard on steep long hills for quite a long period then it almost reaches three quarters of the guage but then my fan kicks in to bring it back to just under halfway on the guage. Steve parker needed the Engine no and he made sure the guage was matched. I tried all sorts of get outs but I just brought the right bits in the end as the price was fair I thought. Jai

My 200tdi-in-a-td replacement used to do this, then i put the right gauge in (a 200 tdi one) and it was fine. I have no fan on it and on very steep and long hills the temp sometimes nudges just above half, but otherwise it sits patiently just below - have never known it to approach the red. When i still had the TD sender in it sat at the bottom of the red, occasionally just crossing the line into it, but only very seldom.

200Tdi's run super cool so if you notice any rise in temp its a good indication something is up and needs attention ASAP. Jai
