Hi, I am trying to rebuild a 200TDi basket case and am currently sorting out the wiring to the motor. I found that the ignition switch operation in relation to the fuel shut-off valve seems odd. If the ign. is turned on the fuel shut-off gets a supply to it, turn key to start and supply to fuel shut-off is removed then supply comes back on when key comes back from start position.
Is this correct?
I am not in a position to actually see if motor runs yet. The wiring diagram I have shows 5 wires going to the ignition sw. but there is only 4 on mine.

if the supply to the solenoid is removed the fuel supply will be interrupted, if you want the engine to run the 12v supply should be continuous (while the ignition is on)

That's the way it seemed to me but the wire to the solenoid is connected into a load of other circuits which all come to the ign. sw. via a thick, white wire and I have it in the same position on the switch as another one I have looked at so I was a bit confused.
